DGCA Pariksha Portal Guide: Registration, Login and Document Rules

The Pariksha portal, at pariksha.dgca.gov.in, is where every DGCA computer number application, exam registration and profile update for Flight Crew and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer candidates now happens. It carries a stated “under beta testing” disclaimer, runs strict document specifications that reject a large share of first uploads, and separates candidates into two categories with different paperwork rules. This guide sets out what the portal actually requires, sourced to DGCA’s own Pariksha FAQ, so an upload does not fail on a rule nobody told you about.

What is the DGCA Pariksha portal?

Pariksha is the single online system through which the Central Examination Organisation (CEO), the DGCA office responsible for Flight Crew and AME licence examinations, now handles registration, computer number allotment, admit cards and examination history. It is an integration of two older, separate DGCA systems, and it is developed and maintained by NIELIT, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, not by DGCA’s own IT wing.

Before Pariksha, Flight Crew and AME candidates used separate portals for different parts of the process. Pariksha brought computer number applications, exam registration, document submission and result history under one login, identified by the candidate’s own computer number once one is allotted. That consolidation is also why a single account now governs both a candidate’s licence-exam registrations and their profile data, which is part of why the platform’s own rules on what you can and cannot edit yourself matter more than they would on a simpler booking site.

What does “under beta testing” mean for candidates using Pariksha?

As of August 2026, the Pariksha portal itself carries an on-site disclaimer stating it is under beta testing, with DGCA and NIELIT disclaiming responsibility for actions performed on the platform during that phase. That is not a minor footnote: it means the system you are trusting with your Board Verification Certificate, your computer number application and your exam registration is, by its own operator’s description, not yet in a finished, stable state.

Practically, that changes what a sensible candidate does differently from how they would treat a fully mature government portal. Screenshot every confirmation screen. Save the PDF form Pariksha emails you after registration, rather than assuming you can always re-download it later. Note the exact date and time you submitted anything, in case a dispute over a missed deadline or a rejected upload needs evidence later. None of this is DGCA telling you to distrust the portal; it is DGCA and NIELIT’s own stated position that responsibility for actions taken on it, during this phase, sits with the platform’s current limitations as much as with the candidate.

Who has to register on the Pariksha portal?

Every candidate holding, or applying for, a DGCA computer number must register on Pariksha, and that includes both Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Flight Crew candidates, not pilots alone. A single computer number covers every category of Flight Crew examination DGCA conducts, so a candidate does not register separately per licence type; the same number, and the same Pariksha profile, carries across CPL, ATPL and the other Flight Crew examination categories once the qualification details on the profile are updated to match.

A candidate is authorised to hold only one computer number, and its validity is lifetime once allotted, so the registration you complete now is not something you repeat for a later licence category. What are the DGCA photo and signature specifications, and why do uploads get rejected?

Pariksha states exact dimensions, file size limits and file formats for the photograph and signature every candidate uploads, and a mismatch against any one of those figures is a common, entirely avoidable reason a form gets sent back. The specification is precise, not a rough guideline.

Three mistakes account for most upload rejections we have seen described in candidate queries: uploading a photograph or signature as a PNG or a scanned PDF instead of JPEG/JPG, which the portal does not accept for those two fields specifically; uploading a document as a JPEG when Pariksha requires PDF for documents generally; and a photograph or signature that exceeds the file size ceiling because it was scanned at a higher resolution than the portal allows. None of these are portal bugs. They are the stated specification, and checking a file against the exact numbers above before uploading it is faster than resubmitting after a rejection.

Why did my Pariksha registration link expire, and what do I do now?

After you submit the registration form, Pariksha sends an activation link to your registered email address, and that link stays valid for 24 hours only. If it is not activated within that window, the registration does not carry forward automatically; the candidate has to register again from the start, on a fresh submission.

This is one of the more punishing rules on the portal precisely because it is easy to miss. A candidate who submits a registration late at night, intending to open the confirmation email the next morning, can lose the whole submission before ever seeing it fail. If you are registering on Pariksha, check the inbox and the spam folder for that activation email within the same session you submitted the form, not the next day.

What is the difference between a “new” candidate and an “old” candidate on Pariksha?

Pariksha defines a NEW candidate as one with no Flight Crew computer number from CEO to date, and an OLD candidate as one already allotted a computer number before this portal launched. The distinction changes what paperwork you owe the portal, most visibly on hard copies and the Board Verification Certificate.

The hard copy, when required, goes by Speed Post or Registered Post to the Central Examination Organization, East Block III, Level III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi 110066. This is the same office named across DGCA’s Flight Crew examination rules, and it is the physical address the portal’s own FAQ gives, not a courier address a private coaching provider hands you.

Do I need a Board Verification Certificate to register?

A Board Verification Certificate, or BVC, is a certificate your school or diploma board issues to confirm your mark sheet is genuine, and it is mandatory for every NEW candidate before registering on Pariksha, for the 10th, 12th, 12th-equivalent or Diploma mark sheet on file. It applies to Indian and foreign candidates alike; nobody is exempt from it on the basis of nationality. OLD candidates, already registered before Pariksha, do not need one.

Where your qualification comes from a board that is not a Council of Boards of Secondary Education member or a State or Central Government education board — an international school, board or university situated in India or abroad, for instance — you additionally need an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, at AIU House, 16, Kotla Marg, New Delhi 110022, confirming your qualification is recognised as equivalent to the Indian standard. Diploma holders need the equivalent certificate from the relevant state Directorate of Technical Education instead. Which profile details can I edit myself, and which need DGCA approval?

Once you have a Pariksha profile, only three fields are yours to change directly: mobile number, email ID and correspondence address, through the profile management link. Everything else on your profile — your name, your qualification details, your licence category, and anything not on that short list — requires prior approval from CEO, DGCA before it can change.

This matters most for a candidate who notices an error in their own qualification record months after registering, expecting a quick self-edit. It is not a self-edit. It is a query, submitted through the portal, that goes to a person at CEO for review, which is worth building into your timeline if you catch an error close to an exam application deadline.

What happens if my computer number application is rejected, or approved?

Either outcome reaches you the same way: an email to your registered email ID. A rejection email states the reason for the rejection. An approval email states the computer number itself. There is no separate portal notification you need to hunt for; the email is the record. Once you are through registration, admit cards for a specific session are a separate matter from the profile itself; check the session dates on our DGCA exam calendar before assuming when yours will appear.

If your application is rejected, you do not start over from a blank form. You log in through Candidate Login using your existing credentials, that is, the email ID registered with Pariksha, and correct or comply with every item the rejection email listed, then resubmit. Once a computer number is allotted, your login ID for the portal becomes that computer number itself, with the prefix “P-” added in front of it, replacing whatever temporary ID you used to track a NEW-candidate application beforehand.

What if my school board is not in Pariksha’s dropdown list?

Select “OTHERS” and continue. Pariksha’s own FAQ names this as the expected path when a candidate’s school board or institute does not appear in the dropdown, rather than treating it as an error that blocks registration. Combine this with the BVC and AIU-equivalence rules above if your board is one DGCA is less likely to already recognise by name: the “OTHERS” selection gets you past the form field, but the underlying qualification-recognition documents are what CEO actually checks.

Do foreign nationals and NRIs register differently on Pariksha?

Yes, on three specific points: passport, security clearance and a working Indian mobile number. Indian candidates do not need a passport to register. Every foreign national candidate does, since the address on the passport is used as the candidate’s permanent address on file, and Nepal and Bhutan nationals are named specifically as also requiring a valid passport, rather than being treated as a special case exempt from it.

The security clearance requirement is easy to underestimate on timeline: it is a physical form, filled in five copies, sent by post to CEO alongside the computer number application, not a checkbox completed inside the portal itself. Candidates outside India applying for a first computer number should build weeks, not days, of postal transit into their planning around this step. How do I get help if something goes wrong on the portal?

Pariksha’s FAQ names a “Help Desk” tab, available after login, as the route for raising a query to CEO, and lists a help desk phone number: 011-26196307. For password issues specifically, the “forgot password” option on the login page, using the email ID registered with Pariksha, is the stated self-service route before you would need to raise a query at all.

Two things worth building into your own record-keeping, given the beta status covered earlier: note the date and a brief description whenever you raise a query, and keep the confirmation. A portal that discloses it is still under beta testing is one where a paper trail on your side is doing work the platform itself may not yet reliably do.
